Checking of the hometask.

Learners are introduced the LOs of the lesson.


Pupils learn the words related to the topic. The teacher demonstrates pictures from the PPT or shows the flashcards and the learners pronounce after in chorus or individually. The teacher may use different resources to practice new vocabulary.

Pupils learn the words and drill the pronunciation. After they write them down in their vocabularies (optional).

New vocabulary

Pupils are given worksheets with the pictures of different sports to choose the right word from three words in a line. This task can be done individually.

Reading task

Pupils read the texts about two famous team sports. They read the texts and translate them to check their comprehension. .

After reading them they do the task after where they should decide if the sentence is true or false. They read the sentences and tick(underline, circle) the correct answer.

d.There are about 15 players in hockey. True False

Bingo game

to play this game you have to prepare square pieces of paper. It’s better to cut them in advance. The teacher names the words and the pupils cover the first 5 sport. The first kid to finish shout bingo and then repeats the words aloud. This activity is a challenging and motivating and it is aimed to practise vocabulary.

Teacher gives feedback for learners. This might be done in oral form. Learners reflect on their learning:

  • What has been learned
  • What remained unclear
  • What is necessary to work on
  • What was interesting
