Greeting, Warm Up

Greet the pupils.

  • "Hello!"/"Good morning!"/"Good afternoon!"/
  • ‘How are you?” / “What day is it today?” /“What is the weather like today?”

Warm-up

  • Listen to the songs
  • (W) Pupils make a circle.

Teacher models: I am wearing a black skirt.

Pupils in turns describe themselves.

  • Oral practice activity. Guess “who is wearing….” activity.

Teacher as sample starts the first sentence herself. Ex: He is wearing black sweater and white shirt, green shoes, etc. Who is he?

Learners should give full answers. After, learners try to continue teacher’s idea, there is a sample on the board. Learners practice continuous tense.

Revision

(W)Have pupils stand up if they are wearing certain items of clothing or colors. I.e stand up if you are wearing pants, stand up if you are wearing black, stand up if you are wearing red.

Review colors and clothing on PPT slides 2, 3 & 4. Or, review all clothing items at once with slide 13.

What are You Wearing?

(W) Introduce what are you wearing/I am wearing with slide 16. Model the structure and conversation to pupils. Practice pronunciation.

(P) Have pupilss ask a partner what they are wearing. Circulate and offer feedback.

What are You Wearing?

(W/I) Explain the survey task: Pupils must ask 4 different pupils what they are wearing, using the appropriate structure. Question: What are you wearing? Answer: I am wearing… Have students repeat the structures once more for pronunciation practice. Show the example survey from the second page of the document on the projector.

Give pupils about 5 minutes to ask the questions and collect the survey data.

Share answers with the class.

I.e. What is Amina wearing?

Amina is wearing…(based on survey ticks)

Listening

(I) Tell pupils they will listen to a recording about what people are wearing and the colors of clothes. Tell pupils to take out a pen and the following colors: red, yellow, blue, and green.

Explain that first pupils must listen to what Anna is wearing, then circle Anna. Then, they must listen to what Ben is wearing, then circle ben. Then, they must color the clothes the correct colors.

**Play the listening track once through – each section is automatically repeated two times!

Collect these to check through them and see where pupils are having issues.

Closing Reflection/Self-Assessment & Goodbye

(W) Using the same thumbs up motions, ask students:

1.) Was the listening hard? Or easy? (model accordingly)
