Greeting/ Warm up/Pre-learning:

  • "Hello!"/"Good morning!"/"Good afternoon!"
  • Sit everyone in a circle around you and throw (or roll) a ball to each student randomly. As you do so, ask questions, starting from the simple (What is your name? How are you?) to more involved questions (Where are you from? Do you like Superman? Can you fly?etc.). Review questions from previous lessons and introduce new questions.
  • Leaners watch a video about clothes

Introduction:

(D)Introduce the following items of clothing socks, pants, shoes, shirt, jacket, skirt,dress, blouse, sweater, tie, and belt. Show pictures on PPT/flashcards/realia of the words. Drill pronunciation of each new word.

Practice the clothing vocab with flashcards

Stick the first flashcard on the board and elicit the vocab and write the word clearly below it. Do the same for all of the other flashcards. Next tell everyone to close their eyes and remove one of the flashcards from the board. Now shout "Open your eyes" – everyone must shout out the missing flashcard. Play this until all the flashcards have been elicited.

Colors revision

(W) Connect the item of clothing back to colors. Ask students what colors different items of clothing are. Have them hold up corresponding markers or colored pieces of paper.

Questions:

What colour is this shirt? - It is pink

What colour are these shoes? - They are blue

Practice the vocabulary

(W)Show on PPT different colored articles of the clothing. Let the students touch the article of clothing and color.

Board racing game

Learners are divided into 2 teams. Teacher shows pictures of the learnt vocabulary (slide 13-22) and learners are to tap the word on the board. Whose team member touches the word first, he is the winner.

Sing "Goodbye Song"

Stand together in a circle and sing and move along
