Game : Don't Drop It!

Learners learn words of animals.

All learners should sit in a circle. Use a ball (or even a plastic animal) and toss it to one student. Teacher must say one animal word as she passes. The student then throws to another student and says a different animal word. If the student teacher threws it to drops it, he/she is out. Also, if the student can't think of an animal word within a few seconds he/she is out. The game keeps going until you have one winner.

Learners learn and sing a song about animals.

The topic and Los are presented.

Directions: Sort the animal cards by how each animal moves. Then write the names of the animals under the correct heading.

Production

Learners watch a video and describe animals’ movements.

A rabbit is running.

Learners then perform gestures as they sing songs.

One or two learners come to the front and demonstrate moves.

Group these animals according to their movements

Game “Who am I

Learners listen to the sounds of animals and say a name of the animal: This is a wolf. This is an elephant.

Now it’s time to draw funny pictures. We are going to draw a tiger. I’ll call the parts of body; you’ll draw them with close eyes.

More able students – independent work on definite tasks with little/no support

Allow for flexible groupings and cooperative learning, depending on the appropriateness to the task

Allow for extra time for students needing it, when appropriate

Give extra text or visual support to students needing extra English support

Create small learning groups for students needing extra support or enrichment with the co-teacher, when appropriate

through observation
