- greet students, let them respond to greeting, sing the song “Hello” and take their places

- a mini teacher asks lesson-opening questions about day, date, topic, etc.

- ask sts to write down the following in their copybooks:

Today we will ask for and tell the time and write about our daily routine

- draw sts attention to the lesson objective and make sure they all understand it

Warm up

Play ‘Guess time’ game. Show PPT slides, ask sts to look at clocks and say which of them shows the appropriate time.

Time Practice

Speaking

-Review telling time with the first page of this PDF – partner activity with drawing the clocks. Ask you partner what time it is and draw the clock. Then sts show each other their cards, compare them and peer assess.

*Differentiation: Less able students get support from more able ones

-Watch the song and do the movements along with the man

- Pass out the time practice worksheet for reading the time and pictures of a clock. Have learners read it and match sentences and pictures

-Sts ask each other questions and answer them with the help of the organisers they did at the previous lesson.

Home task & Exit Questions

Pass out worksheet for writing the time and daily routine. Sts should do it as a home task.
